  • The Harmony remote must still remain within range of the hub, regardless of if all devices are configured to be controlled by the remote.
  • The Harmony remote must be pointed directly at any devices assigned to be controlled by the remote. This includes when starting or stopping an Activity.
  • Devices controlled using Bluetooth wireless technology, such as the PlayStation 4 must be controlled using the hub.
  • The Harmony Companion and Harmony Smart Control remotes do not have IR emitters and rely on the hub and IR mini blaster(s) for all IR control.

Do you have to use the Harmony app to pair this device?

r/logitechharmony – “You have to use the Harmony App to pair this device” after adding Nvidia Shield Pro Using Myharmony with my Harmony Elite Remote and hub I was able to add my new Nvidia Shield Pro and the activities associated with it and then sync everything.

Everything looks good until I go to the shield activity. First strange thing is the harmony touch window comes down when I go to the Shield activity. Then when I push a button I get The message “You have to use the Harmony App to pair this device”, However the remote is paired with the hub as it works with all other devices.

None of the harmony buttons are programed for the Nvidia Shield. I am able to go to my other activities and the remote works fine so it surely is paired with the hub. I synced and re-paired the Harmony Elite remote multiple times but still the same issue when on the Nvidia Shield activity.
